Lego Batman 3 Reveals New Characters and Playstation Exclusive DLC

In just over a month Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will be hitting shelves and developer Traveller’s Tales are already in full hype mode. They have revealed Kalibak, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Music Meister and Polka-Dot Man as all new additions to the substantial roster.

You’d be forgiven for not recognizing every villain on the list. Admittedly, they’re not your average household super names, but with over 150 playable mini-figures included in the game, it’s unsurprising that Traveller’s Tales are calling upon characters from the expanded Lego universe.

One of the least known of new announcements, Polka-Dot Man is also one of the most interesting. Originally named Abner Krill, Polka-Dot Man wears a white suit covered in multicolored dots which, once removed, transform into a variety of devices that can aid his evil doing.

The new characters were revealed at a conference at EGX London 2014 with lead developer Arthur Parsons, in which he also discussed the recently revealed Playstation exclusive Batman Beyond DLC. Based on the animated Batman Beyond TV series, known as Batman of the Future in Europe, the pack will contain young Batman Terry McGinnis, an aging Bruce Wayne, and villains Bonk and Mr. Freeze among others.

The DLC pack should be available for both Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 owners free of charge at launch, while everyone else will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on it. The timed exclusivity will only be in effect during the game’s launch window, meaning the DLC should be available for all at a specified price come December.

Along with Batman Beyond themed DLC, Travaller’s Tales have already announced Man of Steel and Dark Knight DLC, based on the films of the same name, a 75th anniversary DLC and three other, as yet unannounced, packs. The season pass will include six of the packs, minus the Batman Beyond content, and will provide players with new levels, vehicles and over 40 new characters.

Lego Batman: Beyond Gotham will be released in the US on November 11th, and in Europe and Australia on November 14th.
