Lupe Fiasco ft/ Sirah “Lilies” [New Music]

Flowers bloom atop the troubled Atlantic waters

Written by on

Another year, another round of conflict between Lupe Fiasco and his slaveowners label, Atlantic Records. In a week filled with turmoil that ended with Atlantic announcing a release date for Testuo & Youth after threats from Anonymous (you read that right), Lupe drops “Lilies” as a thank you to fans.

Lost in the Atlantic is a mixtape Lupe announced as a threat to Atlantic before Anon’s involvement but, even with a release date on record, it seems he’ll still release this project and “Lilies” may be the lead song from the tape. The production by the Buchanans is pleasant to the ear, with Lupe lacing his usual multiple layers lyrics that will take a few listens to dissect. Sirah supplies a sound hook and, considering I’m not very familiar with her, I’ll be checking for more of her music.

Are you excited for Lost in the Atlantic? Tetsuo & Youth? Share thoughts on those questions and the track itself down in the comments below.
