/// Konami Says Hideo Kojima Is on Vacation, Still Listed as a Company Employee!
In a statement sent to Tokyo Sports (translated by Kotaku), Konami said, “Currently, Kojima and the development team are finished developing Metal Gear Solid V and are taking a long time off from work.” Konami later added, “Because the development time for console games is so long and fatigue builds up, it’s common for employees to take extended periods of time off when development is finished.”

/// Report: Destiny’s Story Was Rebooted in Summer 2013, Full-Sized Sequel Coming in 2016!
Interestingly, one source said a new public space on Mars, complete with strikes and a new raid, was cut from The Taken King, but eventually passed to High Moon Studios to work on for the full Destiny sequel in 2016, which they’re helping Bungie with. Furthermore, one source commented on the recent move to Destiny micro-transactions, which they say will completely remove expansions and put the franchise on an annual release patch:
There was a bet that was, ‘Hey if we did microtransactions, I bet you we could generate enough revenue to make up for the loss of DLCs.’ Instead of it going Destiny, DLC1, DLC2, Comet [aka The Taken King], DLC1, DLC2, they’re actually just gonna go [big] release and then incremental release. So it’ll just be Destiny, Comet, Destiny, Comet every year. It’s basically just switching the game to an annual model.

/// Star Wars Battlefront | Leia, Han Solo, and Palpatine Confirmed!
DICE detailed each of these three new playable characters | See Full Details Here
Han Solo
Gameplay-wise, Han Solo is a gunslinger mainly designed for lone wolves and, echoing the beginning of the original Star Wars trilogy, he’s not very dependent on others. Similar to a Rebel trooper, but with a greatly boosted arsenal, Han Solo might be the easiest Hero character to get into. Offensive output, damage, and mobility – that’s what this guy’s about.
Leia Organa
It’s clear that Leia is a leader, so in Star Wars Battlefront she’s very much about support play, buffing team members, and holding positions. Furthermore, players spawning close to her will spawn as Alderaan Honor Guards.
Emperor Palpatine
We wanted many different things with the Emperor. We wanted him to be very mobile, but also about deception and fooling people that he’s fragile and weak. As you’ve seen in the original Star Wars trilogy, Palpatine pretends to be a weak old man, when he in fact is extremely powerful. That two-faced side was something we wanted to convey in gameplay and the Emperor’s abilities.

/// Druckmann and Straley Changed Uncharted 4’s Story Shortly After Becoming Co-Directors!
Speaking with the Official PlayStation Magazine, Druckmann explained that after only a few weeks on the job, he and Straley “pitched a pretty new story to the team.”
I remember when Bruce and I came onto the project. A few weeks later we pitched a pretty new story to the team, kind of like a new direction for the project. A lot of things were pretty rough and just slotted in, so there was an ending but it wasn’t as well defined, and at some point we defined more of the [plot] thread and a more definitive ending, and we did a second pitch for the team.
As it turns out, part of the new story meant leaving behind a role played by Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Star Wars: Rogue One), who told IGN in a recent interview, “I worked on Uncharted, the one that has yet to come out – I was doing a role on that. Really, I hadn’t seen [Nolan North] since he and I had recorded years before.”
After first hinting at that he was fired, then correcting to say he quit, Tudyk mentioned that he “didn’t like it,” before adding that he didn’t make any friends at Naughty Dog:
I mean, I left because they decided to go a different way with it and so when they did that, when they changed leadership, it made my contract null and void and I was able to take that opportunity to walk away which was great because I got the experience of doing it, I made some friends – not with Naughty Dog – but I made some friends with the people that left.
