The work above, done by the very talented Aryoksini, is a small glimpse of what Mario might look like should he ever have a game made in the Unreal Engine 4. Instead of colorful kingdoms and well drawn, wacky enemies, we’re left with Mario running about kitchens, hidden mountain caves, and what looks to be a destroyed castle.
In order to make this possible, aryoksini built the Mario animations from scratch and picked up some locales in the Unreal marketplace. I don’t know about you, but all this video does is make me happier that I live in a world where Mario’s art direction is handled by Nintendo.
