If our review of Rise of the Tomb Raider is anything to go by, it’s a brilliant game and the perfect sequel to the 2013 reboot and there’s many reasons to pick it up. Great reviews, exciting trailers and… sadistic survival games?
To promote the recent release, Xbox UK has set up a competition between eight contestants. These poor people must stand on the side of a billboard as they’re pelted with harsh weather all for the prize of a world adventure. However, this isn’t just any random harsh weather. Selecting between Rain, Wind, Snow and Heat, stream viewers are given the opportunity to vote for what the contestants will face next. And… well, it’s the internet after all.
All in all, it’s a strange promotion campaign that doesn’t seem to promote Rise of the Tomb Raider at all. There’s nothing that puts me off playing games more than watching people get hypothermia.
