Street Fighter V’s Beta Temporarily Shut Down Until Problems are Fixed

The beta for Street Fighter V went online yesterday on the PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, many (myself included) were unable to actually participate due to the inability to log in. Some users were able to log in but were booted out shortly afterwards. Because of these issues, Capcom has decided to put the beta on hold until they can correct the problem.

I found this out thanks to an email the company sent me this morning. In it, the Capcom representative tells me that the game is undergoing a period of extended maintenance which means that the game will be unavailable to all users. I was told that I will be notified when the beta relaunches.

While this is disappointing news for those of us who were eagerly awaiting this beta, we must remember that it is a beta and this is par for the course. It’s better that this happens during the beta and not when the actual game is released.

We’ll let you know as soon as the beta goes live again.
