According to an article with IGN, EA does more than “break even” when it comes to generating revenue from extra content.
In a statement from the company’s own Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Blake Jorgensen, EA makes $1.3 billion a year off extra content alone.
Although the number is staggering, it is clearly representative from the exuberant amounts of additional content EA offers in its games. With countless map packs, season passes, and numerous micro-transcations, this number makes sense.
