In addition to the event, 20th Century Studios released a featurette about the legacy of Ceasar featuring Andy Serkis explaining how The Planet of the Apes franchise really transcends time. The legacy of these movies is very important to me. Any film after Caesar’s journey has to be equally profound and Wes Ball achieved that with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. We wanted to give people this immersive experience into a world we’ve never seen before. Wes did something new, and I was really excited to pass on the baton.

Fans of the previous trilogy will appreciate Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes takes a 300-year leap forward to do its own thing while still honor what came before to create the ultimate Planet of the Apes movie.

To further the point of the being the “ultimate Planet of the Apes movie, 20th century Studios also release a new clip titled “What a Wonderful Day” that showcases how Caesar’s legacy lives on through the leader, Proximus Caesar. “Apes together strong” However, what originally was a proclamation of unity is now used a propaganda for Proximus Caesar’s gain with follows apes faithfully bowing to him as a false prophet.

Director Wes Ball breathes new life into 20th Century Studios’ global epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously, and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”). The film is written by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”), and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr., p.g.a. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, p.g.a., Amanda Silver, p.g.a., Jason Reed, p.g.a. (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. Ferrari”) serving as executive producers.
