Announced to be coming out for the Fall during this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, the current-gen version of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V now has a solid release date. Gamers on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to make a return trip to Los Santos on November 18.
This new trailer, with footage entirely from the PlayStation 4, focuses on the illusions that the denizens of Los Santos indulge in. Whether it be dreams of being rich, beautiful, famous, or visions induced by illegal substances, the trailer shows many of the ways that these people escape from reality. This was the game that brought back the more comedic tone of the franchise after the super seriousness of Grand Theft Auto IV and this trailer fully celebrates that aspect.
Grand Theft Auto V has gotten new textures and special effects that weren’t possible on the last-gen consoles. It already looked stunning before, but now it’s really a sight to behold. It wasn’t just fancier textures that were added either. The game now has more density to it and will have a larger amount of vehicles on the road and people on the sidewalk. Yes, this is just the last-gen version with more stuff added on top of it but no one can deny its beauty. Also, since this will be on PC, I imagine that community will go completely wild with creating modifications for the game. Remember all of those cool videos we saw of people making GTAIV hyper-realistic? Expect the same here.
Personally speaking, I’ll be skydiving right back into Los Santos. I thought this game was fantastic on my PlayStation 3 and I can’t wait to play it on my PlayStation 4. The fact that all of my data from GTA Online transfers over to this version is what sold it to me. I worked pretty hard on my gansta-chick and would have hated to start over again. I do hope that some of the issues that continue to plague online will be addressed. Also, can get get some freakin’ heist missions already? This is the single most demanded feature so hopefully Rockstar will deliver that soon.
Once again, Grand Theft Auto V will be released on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18. Prepare!
