Big L is one of my favourite rappers of all time, so he was bound to come up in my picks at some point. His album Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous took him around two years to record, and a lot of the music captures the mind-state of rappers coming up around that time. I feel like rappers these days fail to capture the image of what’s going on around them. All of the artists featured so far in Throwback Thursday are gifted with the ability to paint a picture in your mind of what it was like for them coming up, and Big L doesn’t fail to do that on this song Street Struck.
