Joell Ortiz – Outta Control [Hip-Hop]

After Kendrick Lamar proclaimed to be the king of New York, Slaughterhouse member Joell Ortiz has responded.

Outta Control” sees Joell Ortiz take the initiative and become the first to reply to Kendrick on wax.

Joell Ortiz opens up with:

I ain’t even gotta give this too much thought /
Joell Ortiz won every war that he ever fought/
This ain’t no different, I’m listening, you the king of New York?/
Lil homie you ain’t the king of New York, you the next thing on my fork/

He further addresses the Compton rapper with references to his rap-group Slaughterhouse:

When we met you said ”it’s an honor, man, the YAOWA man can spit”/
Maybe that’s why you left me out of that shit/
Maybe that’s why the Slaughterhouse ain’t get dissed/
Or maybe I’m not on your radar/
You feel you ain’t gotta acknowledge my clique/
Either way, I personal train this beat, it gotta get ripped/

He then goes on to mention that he’ll declare himself a free agent if Aftermath ever needs him, Aftermath being Ortiz’s former label and one of current record labels that Kendrick Lamar is signed to.

Although Joell Ortiz doesn’t go too hard at K-Dot, he does come with some nice wordplay and wins the award for first rapper to respond on a record.

So…what’s everyone’s thoughts on the track? Who do you think will be next to respond?
