Earlier today, Digital Extremes confirmed that Warframe will be a PlayStation 4 launch title. The trailer above is taken exclusively from their E3 reveal scheduled to air during next week’s Sony conference event.
For those who are unaware of what Warframe is exactly, the game is best described as a free-to-play cooperative third-person shooter. Warframe originally launched on the PC back in March and has been getting rave reviews ever since. Many fans may recall Digital Extremes for their work on The Darkness II and Star Trek.
After getting a look at this trailer, I would have to say that I’m excited that this game is coming to the PS4. The one aspect that is most interesting about all this is that it shows Sony’s growing interest in the free-to-play model. Can we expect to see many more free-to-play games on the PS4 in the future? My guess would be a resounding YES.
