Earlier this week, Bungie confirmed on a recent Destiny blog post that all of the character progression made in the beta won’t carry over to the finished version of the full game. The studio also revealed that some elements introduced in the beta may be changed and/or gotten rid of altogether.
Bungie Designer Tyson Green elaborated on things further in the following statement:
Since the Beta, we’ve continued to tune and adjust the game. The way you earn experience has been adjusted up and down a bunch of times. Items have been added and removed. New features toggled. Although there’s no single monumental change, the sum of the tweaks leaves characters from the Beta Build in strange shape that would be confusing at best, broken at worst.
While this is normally the standard procedure under which most betas operate, there will definitely be more than a few fans who may be annoyed by this news. It is still currently unclear what all will be altered, but luckily we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out now.
Destiny is scheduled to launch on September 9th for the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
