The Most Anticipated Video Games of May 2019

April turned out to be another fantastic month for video game releases thanks largely in part to the successful worldwide launches of both Mortal Kombat 11 and Days Gone. With E3 2019 fast approaching and more new game announcements planned for the big show, everyone’s attention now shifts towards May. A Plague Tale: Innocence and Rage 2 are two fantastic examples of noteworthy video games that should already be on your radar. Here are more details on both of those games as well as few other titles that are worth paying close attention to over the next 31 days.

Life is Strange 2 – Episode 3 is a graphic adventure game and the continuation of lead protagonists Sean and Daniel Diaz’s journey to Mexico. Taking place a few months after Episode 2, both brothers now find themselves among a new group of runaways and in more unforeseen obstacles threatening to block their path. Fans have been eager to see where the story goes from here along with other Life is Strange character cameos. Luckily answers to all of these questions and more will be revealed in the months ahead.

Developed by Asobo Studio, A Plague Tale looks absolutely stunning and promises to deliver a rich storyline coupled with challenging survival puzzles for players to overcome. If you’re looking for a truly unique gameplay experience then this might be the right title for you.

Rage 2 is a first-person shooter and the official sequel to the 2011 game Rage. This time around, players take on the role of the last ranger tasked with surviving a post-apocalyptic world filled with dangerous creatures. Avalanche Studios have worked on other titles like Just Cause and Mad Max, making them perfectly suited to develop an open world game of this magnitude.

Release Date: May 21st

Team Sonic Racing is a kart racing game that features fifteen characters from the iconic Sonic the Hedgehog series. While this title does have both single and multiplayer modes, the overall focus is on cooperative gameplay, making it slightly different from other kart racers currently on the market. If you’re a fan of Sonic and racing games, then Team Sonic Racing may be absolutely perfect for you.

Total War: Three Kingdoms is a turn-based strategy real-time tactics game developed by Creative Assembly. Three Kingdoms takes place during 220-280 AD and revolves around players choosing one of twelve factions to eliminate each other and successfully unify China. This is the 12th mainline entry in the Total War series and an absolute must-play for strategy game fans.

Blood & Truth is an upcoming first-person shooter designed exclusively for PlayStation VR and developed by the talented team over at SIE London Studio. This title could be best described as an action-packed spy thriller that takes place in London and has a story on par with something you’d see in a James Bond or Mission Impossible film. Having played this game way back at PSX 2016, this certainly felt like a blockbuster PSVR exclusive and I can’t wait to spend more time with it later this month.
