Earlier this morning, SIE Bend Studio revealed in a brief PlayStation blog post that Days Gone is now scheduled to launch worldwide on April 26th, 2019. This post-apocalyptic open world action-adventure game was originally slated for release on February 22nd, 2019. Below is a brief statement by the studio that dives further into why the game was delayed by two months.
We want to share a change in release date for this highly anticipated title from Bend Studio. We recently decided to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe to April 26, 2019. While the studio is eager to see Days Gone in the hands of fans, Bend Studio will take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone.
The decision to push Days Gone’s release date out a little further by two months is a smart one thanks largely in part to February 2019 already being a crowded month for releases. Bioware’s Anthem and 4A Games Metro Exodus are both due on February 22nd while Microsoft’s Crackdown 3 is expected to launch around the same time. At the end of the day, it’s most important that the final product turns out great and the delay guarantees that this will happen.
Are any of you looking forward to checking out Days Gone when it debuts on April 26th? Please feel free to let us know your thoughts on the upcoming game, this brief delay and more in the comments section below.
